Meet our team of inspirational women this IWD

March 08, 20238 min read

Did you know today is International Women’s Day? And this year the theme is: ‘DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality’. One that really hits home for our ‘Global Team’ that we call family.

Behind the brand we have an AMAZING group of ladies from all walks of life and although we aren’t all based in the one office or can you believe it… country, together we create some pretty epic things!

Given that today is IWD we thought why not share some fun facts about some of the incredible women behind the brand and screens so you can get to know them a little better too!

ELICIA CROOK

My name is Elicia, I am Australian although ancestry tells me there is lots of Irish in me too! My role in the business is, the CEO, Head Of Finance and one of the Lead Coaches.

A woman I find inspiring, well it was just too hard to pick one! I have FIVE incredible BFFS - Annette - Lou - Erin - Jenni and Lani and I am inspired by them every day - they are role models, mentors, offer me an endless amount of support and of course the BEST friends! All have a wicked sense of humour, we often tag each other in funny posts and send each other funny reels that probably do weird things to my algorithm! 🤣

The woman I would want to go to dinner with is Alison Armstrong (only cos Brene was taken and the Queen is no longer with us 😢) I love the books that she has written for Women.

CHRISTINE KNOX

My name is Christine and I am Scottish. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 My role is Head of Delivery and Sales (with James).

A woman that inspires me the most is Karin Figliolini, she has been there for me for the last 30 years. She actually deserves a medal and an epic sized cocktail or two. 🥂

A woman I would want to go on a dinner date with is Anne Hathaway. It would be soooo much fun! In saying that I am a little confused, why only invite one when there's so many fabulous women to have dinner with!

Christine Knox

FLAVIE

Hi there, my name is Flavie, I am French and have a Portuguese background. My role is in Admin/Finance, I work closely with Elicia, James and Joanne.

The TWO most inspirational women in my life are my two grandmas and in terms of who I would want to go to dinner with and why, this is a toughy, there's a lot of women I would love to have dinner with!

If they were still alive it would be Anne Frank, Princess Diana or Jane Austen.
Otherwise I would have dinner with Michelle Obama, I love her books and documentaries and also the fact that she has done a lot in supporting women and their education all around the world and helping families create healthy habits (amongst a lot of other amazing things she's done).

JOANNE

Hi, I'm Joanne, I am Australian with English and Scottish heritage. My role is in Finance, you can often find me tweaking Elicia's creative accounting! 😉

The most inspirational woman in my life, well I have chosen two, my Mum and Gran.

I would love to go to dinner with HRH Catherine as the Queen is no longer with us and Alice Loxton (British Historian), to hear their view on the future of the Monarchy.

Joanne

MAY

Hello, my name is May, I am Filipino. My role is as a Virtual Assistant for the range of programs Elicia, James and Christine offer.

The most inspirational woman in my life is my friend, Michelle Remulla. I admire her relationship with Jesus and how she let him transform her and her life into the wife and mother, and friend she is today. Her life is a blessing to many, including mine. Most of all, I aspire to have the same quiet confidence she has. She is my friend and confidante.

My dinner date would be Carole King. I love her song writing and would love to hear her process, her thoughts, and views in life.

MILENA

Hi, my name is Milena and I am Brazilian. My role is part of the Marketing Team as a Digital Marketer.

The most inspirational woman in my life is my aunt, she played a big part in shaping the woman I am today.

If I could go on a dinner date with an amazing woman I would choose Chimamanda Adichie. I love her sense of humour and how she talks about feminism and many forms of social inequalities.

Milena

LOUISE

Hey there, my name is Louise (aka Lou) and I am a New Zealander.

My role is in the Marketing Team as a Content Creator and Social Media Manager. You'll often find me creating and sharing funny stories of James and Elicia on Instagram. 🤫

The most inspirational woman in my life would be, without being too gushy, Elicia Crook. Leesh came into my life when it was challenging me the most. She has been there since I started my business and is my number one fan to "just keep on swimming" when times get tough! Whilst I am surrounded by amazing women, without the kindness, support and encouragement from Leesh I wouldn't be where I am today. She inspires me to be a better human simply by being in it as a friend and as a team leader.

I'd invite Kim Kardashian on a dinner date.
I admire her work ethic, her vulnerability to share her life (ups and downs) and the business empire she continues to grow, to me, it's really inspiring. She's always open for personal growth and development and I'd love to sit down with her and get to know her off the IG feed.

Louise

BOBBIE

Hi, my name is Bobbie! I am Australian and my role is part of the Marketing Team as a Social Media Manager.

The most inspirational woman in my life is my best friend Liz, she is my rock, voice of reason and good time!!!

I would take Adele on a dinner date. I think she is absolutely hilarious and so down to earth! She would have some wild stories!

Bobbie

LISA

Hey, I'm Lisa, I am. Australian (English & Australian heritage) My role in the business is as a Program Coach.

The most inspirational woman in my life would be my Mum but also all the women in business that I connect with.

If I could go to dinner with an amazing woman I could choose Janine Allis. I'd love to learn all her business knowledge and soak in as much as I could.

Lisa Elwell

YVETTE

Hi there, my name is Yvette and I am Australian. My role is a Program Coach.

Like a couple of the others I couldn't choose just one inspirational woman, I went with two, my Mum and my daughter.

I would love to go on a dinner date with the Queen if she was still with us. Failing that I would say Cher. I would love to listen to more stories of her life and music. I went to her concert a few years ago and her stories were fun and heartwarming. She didn't have to sing and I would go to see her.

Yvette

BECCA

Hey there, my name is Becca and I am American. My role in the business is as a Support Coach.

As for sharing with you an inspirational woman in my life, I am so blessed to have many amazing ladies who inspire me daily, but two who stand out are an 87 year old client, Martha and my BFF, Carly.

I’d love to have dinner (if they were alive) with Maya Angelou because her wisdom and words so beautifully reflect her heart and soul. Also, Lucille Ball! She was such a powerful business woman who happened to make a career by making people laugh.

Becca Grant

DONIELLA

Hey! I'm Doniella and I'm 100% true blue Aussie with ancestry from England, Ireland and Scotland. My role is a Vision and Clarity Coach.

The most inspirational woman in my life was my mum (RIP). She was a straight shooter, and spoke out courageously against injustice but had a soft, loving, passionate side and a heart of pure gold.

I would invite Christine Knox and Elicia Crook to dinner because I am inspired by female entrepreneurs and passionate women who are making a difference. Plus I would love the chance to pick their brains. 😉

Doniella

NAOMI

Hi there, my name is Naomi and I am Australian/Aboriginal. My role is in the fabulous Sales Team.

The most inspirational woman in my life is my sister Jasmine and for my dinner date guest I would invite Brene Brown, because I literally hang off every word she says!

So there you have it, some of the very important women in our lives, who we are so incredibly grateful to have on the team.

Naomi

Putting this together was super fun, we learnt a thing or two about the team too, who knew we had so many Royalists between us!!! Wouldn’t it be SO much fun if we could get the whole crew together for dinner in the one country and they could bring their dinner date along too!!!

Wishing you a Happy International Women's Day, we hope you take the time out to share the love with the women in your life that inspire you too.

Until Next Time,

Elicia
