Ep 137: Building Strength, Resilience, and Global Impact with Sarah Nehme
In Episode 137 of the Health Leader Podcast, I had the absolute pleasure of speaking with Sarah Nehme, Global Head of Programming at Body Fit Training. And let me tell you, this conversation was a masterclass in strength, resilience, leadership, and backing yourself.
Sarah’s journey into the health industry began the way many great coaches do: through lived experience. After playing soccer for nearly 20 years and navigating her fair share of injuries, she became deeply curious about how the body works, and more importantly, how to rebuild it. What started as a fascination with performance evolved into a passion for people. Not just helping bodies move better, but helping humans become stronger, more capable versions of themselves.
With a Master’s in Exercise Science and Strength & Conditioning, Sarah moved from one-on-one coaching into the group training space, eventually becoming a franchise owner and later stepping into a global leadership role. Today, she oversees programming for more than 70,000 members worldwide. Her work is meticulous; every session tested, refined, and shaped by both science and member feedback. It’s innovation at scale, but grounded in care.
One of the most powerful themes in our conversation was sacrifice and intentional decision-making. Sarah recently completed the Boston Marathon, and her reflections were honest: something always has to give. For her, that meant less sleep, but never compromising family or the core values that fuel her. Discipline, she shared, isn’t about punishment. It’s about clarity. Knowing what matters most and choosing accordingly.
As business owners, we also explored what it means to trust yourself. One lesson stood out: Don’t waste time trying to make the right decision. Make the decision and then make it right. That mindset shift, from hesitation to ownership, is transformative for practitioners stepping into leadership.
Sarah is now developing a mentorship program for coaches ready to expand beyond technical skill into emotional intelligence, communication, and real human connection. Because as she so wisely put it: people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.
This episode is a reminder that excellence isn’t accidental. It’s built through discipline, self-awareness, collaboration, and courage.
If you’re ready to lead at a higher level, this conversation is one you won’t want to miss.
